Mutoh - HydrAton 1642

At Drupa 2024, the world's largest trade fair for print and media, RGF partner MUTOH Europe nv, the EMEA headquarters of Japanese wide format printer manufacturer MUTOH INDUSTRIES LTD., unveiled the new HydrAton 1642 digital printing system (Hall 9-B10). This 64" (162 cm) wide roll-to-roll printer features innovative water-based UV printing technology, underlining MUTOH's ongoing commitment to sustainable practices and a safer working environment.

The synergy between the HydrAton 1642 and AQUAFUZE™ ink technology will meet a wide range of market needs. Equipped with two AccuFine piezo drop-on-demand printheads, the HydrAton 1642 can print on a wide range of substrates without the need for pre-coating with primer or optimizer, including paper, synthetic fabrics, technical textiles, heat-sensitive eco-friendly substrates and even PVC. The prints have a very thin ink film, a soft touch and high scratch resistance.

Fujifilm's patented AQUAFUZE™ ink technology combines the advantages of UV-LED and water-based inkjet technologies in a single ink formulation. The HydrAton 1642 can print on a wide variety of substrates without the need for a primer or optimizer.
Optimizers, including paper, synthetic fabrics, technical textiles, heat-sensitive environmentally friendly substrates, specialty films and even PVC. The prints have a very thin ink film, a soft touch and high scratch resistance.
